In case you missed it, tonight was national Lag night where every sever experienced lag. Oh, it wasn't just me, all my fellow gamers in arms were bitching how bad it was on every server they joined. EA must be working on things? Improvements? Perhaps...
What's funny, is that I had one of my best games tonight. Even with all the shacking view, shooting an RPG only to see it shoot 3 seconds later, unloading an entire clip at someone point blank only to see them suddenly disappear, etc I was finally on an even playing ground with everyone else and did plenty of damage. 4,500 pts in one round!
I turned down all my game settings to low, 1x or off and am running at 1280x800 and it BARELY helped with the FPS. Averaging still around 35 fps. I'm hoping that tomorrow night the lag is gone and the game is playable to really test my new settings.
We'll see what the EA fairy brings tomorrow...

Hm ... no lag-problems on EU servers last night. I played until 1:00 a.m. (EU time) this morning. LOL ... as defender on the first base, I was able to steal the enemies tank (lol - the left it alone in our base to attack A) and we pwned them. Attackers didn't make it to the second base in that match *LOL* Maybe we get the lags one night later Errors I had to deal with: - Back to Desktops (rarely - from time to time), - missing player name in the "You got revived by ?" message, - wrong player shown in killcam picture.

For the FPS issue:
Setting the sound quality to "headphones" really helps alot

Anyway, here's EA's comments on twitter regarding the lag yesterday evening: Quote: EA Online maintenance is happening right at its normal scheduled weekly day & time. Should be done soon, no need to freak out. Why not schedule maintenance during off-peak hours? 8-10pm EST is not exactly a good time.

It is the best timeframe to piss users off I guess the FPS is limited by default (like they did in BF2 before). Fraps shows me a constant 30 ingame and some more outside (intro, etc.). But it is all smooth running here.

So last night I got another chance to play and was actually able to have some fun. All settings down on low combined with a server with a ping of 78 allowed me to play a few rounds without any significant lag.
Teamwork seems to be slowly improving and that's making the game a lot more enjoyable. Attackers with little teamwork tend to just lock themselves into a stalemate with no real "push" towards the objectives. Tanks just whore around and blast enemies from a distance along with snipers. I try to find that squad that gets a guy behind the lines and then I spawn on him and start wreaking havoc.
Looking forward to playing again tonight.

They could give two shits less about what's best for their customers. They only care about statistics, and performing maintenance during peak hours is the best time for them to see what the load is. It makes sense—it's just a bitchy thing to do.
