Okay - complete revision of my thoughts:
I installed new hardware tonight and now things look completely different to me:
3DMark shows the difference: old hardware: 7866 new hardware: 14633
Close Quarter Combats are now way better. Now I get a equal or better KD. I play on 1680x1050 high details and I did NOT change my graphics card (but nearly everything else ). No more lags on servers and I have a decent ping between 13 and 16 I get lots of points for kill-assists and for teamwork (like healing, reviving and repairing). And I get some nice kills together. Sniping works great and I skipped from rank 1 to rank3 or 4 in a hour. A completely different game now. Too bad, that the map gives you not enough options to flank enemies.
The nice point of the new game is, that you receive extra points for helping squadmembers. Example: normal repair: 20 points squad repair: 30 points
And there seem to be several extra awards for sqaud-teamwork. Today I got one for spawning 200 time at a squadmember (something like that).
Now, the new battlefield looks way better to me

Sadly, I have to confirm, that playing on my old system gave me disadvantages, when I compare it to the new system.
In BF2, it was no big deal to lower all settings to get a nice game running (even on a weaker rig), but with the new game-engine, it seems, like you get problems like lags, misfunctions, spinning around and loosing CQC, if you don't have a PC with a higher performance. I guess, that a lot of ingame calculations are more complex to get all the new things (like damaged buildings, terrain) rendered and calculated. That seems to stress CPU and RAM and therefor, the calculations for your shots are not done in time, if it comes to CQC within damaged buildings, smoke and snow.
That is just, what I feel about the difference. But I really have to confess, that the game is really fun with my new hardware.
Would be cool, if they would bring a BF:BC2 benchmark-tool, where they can stresstest your rig and give you a advice, what parts of it are slowing down the game or what you would have to improve.
Oh ... have you seen? They plan you release a Coop-Mode as DLC in the closer future. I hope they bring that idea on!

So what you are saying is that unless you have a good CPU (Mid level quad core) you're screwed.
I just tried playing again and it's horrible. Terrible lag in everything I do. Has anyone with an average system been able to get this gaming running smooth?
How the hell do you check your ping in game anyway?

OK, so I tried again.
Settings on LOW Audio on headphones screen size 1280x720 I got 20 FPS
But it was possible to play and I managed to win several cqc fights. It is still better for me to stay at a distance or in a vehicle. I got a whole shitload of pin in ONE round A round score of like 800 and a reward score of 7500.
Crazy stuff But if it continues to get better and they work a bit on the game so that I get like 40 FPS, Than I will have fun playing.

White crosshairs in a snowy winter environment
Use the medic-PKM: Without prone, it sprays like hell, so a crosshair is absolutely worthless anyways!
But to be honest: I have no problems with the crosshair.
One thing I realized: The gameplay has changed from the first matches to now. In the first matches, we had some camping snipers, the tanks and a dominating copter. Not much movement and no teamplay. Most player as lonewolves.
Now I see nearly all squads are filled with people and I get revived more often than in the beginning. It seems like people recognized the better rewards for squad teamwork. Yesterday, I got tons of "bling-blings" for teamwork.
Ahem ... I start to love that game ...

Yes, I really like that game by now. But I really need a better machine if the requirement stay like that.
And it's true - the gameplay changed. I started as a sniper to get to know the map. there's nothing better than to sit far away and learn the surroundings, spawn points and enemy movements. Now that I know more or less how the game will go I willgo more assault or medic...

Holding back from saying I told you so.
I do think the lack of optimization is an issue though. I am confident it will get better, but after playing the demo at a locked 60 FPS with no lag on the 360 my 2000$ PC chugging along while playing it seems ridiculous.
